"In situations where a raft foundation alone does not satisfy the design requirements, it

paper outlines the development of a simplified method of analysis which can provide a

1. The assessment of the overall foundation behavior;

necessary parameters are summarized.

are described, and it is found that the behavior predicted by the simplified analysis is
