of a limited number of piles, strategically located, may improve both the ultimate load
' O0 t/ O7 ]' Bcapacity and the settlement and differential settlement performance of the raft. This
" X8 t8 J. v/ v& Y2 Npaper outlines the development of a simplified method of analysis which can provide a
! D" w6 r: P' K7 vuseful tool for preliminary design of piled raft foundations. It involves two phases:
